Strategies for Entrepreneurial Success
Thursday, June 12th, 2008Trying to figure out how to become a successful entrepreneur?
Increase your chances of doing so by following these tips:
Think First - Always think before you act. Consider problems from different perspectives. Be reflective rather than impulsive. Set goals that are simple, measurable, achievable and timely.
Believe in yourself - Your unique way of seeing opportunities sets you apart from all others. Although it may be easier to conform to what everybody else is doing, you need to be confident in your own ability to make an entrepreneurial venture happen. Copycats rarely become successful entrepreneurs.
Know Yourself - Evaluate what makes you unique. Consider your abilities, character traits and skills. Be able to identify your strengths, and improve on your weaknesses. Knowing your thinking style. Are you an “Edison.” always thinking about making existing ideas better? Or, are you an “Einstein,” continually trying to come up with brand new ideas? Having a unique thinking style is a plus in this endeavor. You should embrace it and seek to capitalize on it.
Enjoy the Challenge - A successful venture is unlikely to happen if you don’t enjoy what you do. You’ll face numerous obstacles along the way. Loving the process will get you through those difficult periods. Remember, while the time invested can be long, and the energy required can be enormous, the returns can be endless.
